Since my last posting of the Friends of Blue Monster Facebook group, members have steadily increased to 357 members. I see that gaining some traction much faster now.
Channel 10 had a write up yesterday on the group, which has now made it to the front page of Techmeme. What has been a slowly spreading movement will be hitting tons of RSS readers, exposing it to those unaware of it’s existence for nearly a year now.
The Blue Monster is, of course, Hugh Macleod’s creation which was passed on to Steve Clayton of Microsoft UK who turned it viral within the offices of Microsoft UK. It has since spread it’s reach since then to non-’Softies to all corners of the globe and is poised with these developments to reach an even wider audience.
Looking forward to what the reactions will be!

Thanks for the kind words, James…
The Blue Monster started small, and we kept it small, deliberately.
We thought if it got to big, too fast we’d have the Redmond Brand Police all over us like a ton of bricks.
Or another scenario, MSFT would hire me for a permanent gig, making it all nice and official and corporate and… “MARKETING”.
So I’m wondering now… how many people in the MSFT ecosystem read Techmeme? I guess I’m about to find out
No need for thanks Hugh, we should be thanking you and Steve for getting the message out that Microsoft isn’t just all lawyers and bent on complete world domination.
It’s a common misconception for outsiders and I’m glad to see the real story getting out for all to see. Every person I’ve ever contacted within Microsoft has been extremely helpful and pretty much bent over backwards to help me when I needed it. They do care about their Partners very much, unlike other corporate entities I’ll leave unnamed…
Have a great day Sir!
