It was much like any other day. Up at 8am. Visit some clients. Coordinate with a business associate on who to go after next. Take care of some issues remotely.
It turned out not to be the same after all.
I headed home for lunch and checked the mailbox on the way up. Bill and a key to open the storage cage where I received something too large to fit in the mailbox. Wondering what neat stuff Microsoft sent me now. Action Pack update? Forefront Security information package? What could it be?
Opening the cage, I was greeted with a cardboard tube. No discerning markings on where it came from other than Suttons Business Park, Reading. Where the hell is that I pondered. The tube was bent in half, all hail the postal system’s care policy. Knowing it was a poster of some sort, I cringed knowing that whatever was inside wasn’t going to survive intact.
Pop the top and look inside. Nothing that I can see past the bend. It must be on the other side. Popped the other side and I see oek.com. No fricking way! I slid it out and was presented with the full glory of a Blue Monster lithograph (slightly damaged). I’m in the process now of trying to straighten it out somewhat before I give it a proper frame to hang over my desk.
Total surprise is the proper terminology for what I felt when I opened the second side. Out of the blue. I’m verifying where it came from at the moment, but I’m fairly certain it came from Steve Clayton over at Geek In Disguise. Once he gets back to me, I’ll post it here.
Some pics!
And, a picture of me with the goods.
We’ve managed to get it a bit straighter from the initial damage. Unfortunately, it will never be completely straight due to the heavy creases, but you can barely see them in a frame.

Glad you like it James - sorry it got damaged in the post!

It’s the best! I’m planning on posting some pictures later of how much we managed to straighten it out after I take care of some clients.
Many, many thanks!
